Tramin & surroundings
Tramin and its surroundings have a lot to offer. Whether you are an active holidaymaker, someone who needs to relax or a pleasure seeker – everyone will get their money’s worth in the southern part of South Tyrol.
Tramin is a typical South Tyrolean wine village. Surrounded by vineyards, we feel at home and our guests have also come to appreciate the southern flair. The people from Tramin are particularly proud of the world-famous Gewürztraminer, which thrives here in the best and highest quality.
Active holidaymakers are spoilt for choice. Hikers can hike from the bottom of the valley up to the summit of the Roen, cyclists can use the numerous well-developed South Tyrolean cycle paths or undertake challenging bike trails in the Mendel Mountains. It should be emphasized that you can hike and cycle here as early as early spring and as late as late autumn. Water lovers will find numerous opportunities to enjoy themselves in and on the water in the Kalterer See, which is visible form the Sonnenhof, the Fennberger See or the two Monitggler Seen. There are several golf courses: the 18-hole golf course in St. Petersberg at an altitude of 1,200 m, “The Blue Monster” golf course in Eppan, the 9-hole golf course in Carezza and the 9-hole golf course in Lana.
Are you simply looking for relaxation? Then you’ve come to the right place! Leisurely walks through the blossoming orchards, strolling through the romantic village centres of Tramin, Kaltern or Eppan in the long evenings, leisurely excursions to Bolzano or Merano, a visit to the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, an organized visit to the opera in Verona or simply unwinding by the pool of the Sonnenhof and breathing in the flair of the south.
In Tramin, gourmets will find numerous wine bars and upscale wine events, but also a place where traditional Tyrolean cuisine is paired with Italian cuisine and forms a wonderful symbiosis. Dumplings and spaghetti – just taste it!
